Redstone Architects Join CSI Detroit on Guided Architectural Tour of the Fisher Building

Thank you CSI Detroit & Jacob Jones for hosting us at Detroit's iconic Fisher Building!

Redstone Architects’ very own proud Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) members, Teffera Kowalske and Natalie Wilson, were honored to attend a recent tour of the historic and iconic Art Deco Fisher Building. This tour was hosted by CSI Detroit Chapter and guided by local public historian Jacob Jones.

Throughout the tour, Teffera and Natalie learned about the design, construction, and evolution of the Fisher Building. The building was uniquely designed to be both a vision of the future of Motor City and a celebration of Detroit’s rich American heritage. The building’s interiors feature bold patterns, vibrant mosaics and wallpapers, and intricate carvings, which draw inspiration from the ancient Mayans, Romans, and the modern craftsmanship of Fisher brothers’ autobody work. Today, these awe-inspiring features stand the test of time as a testament of Detroit’s enduring beauty.

Thank you to CSI and to Jacob Jones for such an incredible tour of a piece of Detroit’s architectural history.
