The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office has plans to improve its facilities located on the West Campus at 150 South Highlander Way, Howell, Michigan. Built in 1972, the Administrative offices occupy approximately 21,500 SF, of which only 14,500 SF can be repurposed. At the time of the study, there were 50 staff members.

A space Needs Assessment identified the need for over 28,000 SF. Two options were explored; a renovation and expansion of approximately 9,500 SF, and a new facility of approximately 28,000 SF using the adjacent parking lot in the Sheriff Department Complex.

Projected costs were developed for both options, with the renovation/expansion estimated at $10,500,000 and a new build at $12,500,000. The County received our report in January 2020.
