In 2016, Redstone Architects worked with Schraedergroup on a study of the Police Station for the City of Gaithersburg, MD. The study began with a review of the existing facility and site, followed by a space needs assessment and conceptual design services for a new Police Station.
The goals of the conceptual design process were to accommodate department growth through 2027 and improve communication, interaction, and security within the Police department. The study also examined sharing space for city departments within the facility, including the City Council Chamber. The project anticipated achieving LEED Silver rating.
Construction was completed in April 2024 and the city council and police department moved into the newly renovated building. The building was open to the public in May.
