2009 – Present Fire Chief, Northville Township Fire Department

1977- 2008 Farmington Hills Fire Department, Fire Chief 1984-2008

  • Twenty-Seven years as Fire Chief of 125-member Department serving a population of 85,000 and an area of 34 square miles.      
  • Responsible for administration and management of all Department activities including budget, personnel, fire suppression, fire prevention, and emergency medical services. 
  • Administered the construction or re-construction of 5 fire stations.
  • Administered transition of Fire Department from mostly on-call to combination FD including 24-hour staffing.
  • Administered transition from Basic Life Support system to transporting paramedic system
  • Administered purchase and maintenance of Fire Department fleet

2008 – Present     National Fallen Firefighters Foundation – Everyone Goes Home – Program Manager

1999 – Federal Emergency Management Agency – 7-month assignment as Senior Advisor to the Director, and Acting Chief Operating Officer of the United States Fire Administration. Received Director’s Award for Outstanding Public Service
