| Conflicting physical conditions dictated a commercial office or community hospital design rather than that of a correctional facility for the Duane L. Waters Maximum Security Hospital. Skylights and security-type laminated glass were used to brighten hallways, patient rooms and examination areas. The 94-bed maximum security hospital was designed to be completely equipped to handle ambulatory, primary and speciality medical and surgical care, as well as 24-hour emergency care, triage and short term infirmary care. Dental care, psychiatric care, medical records, laboratories, a pharmacy and offices are also located in this facility. |
