Project Size: 60,000 sq.ft. | Changing technology and the desperate need for additional instructional and office spaces in the Radioogy Department of the MSU Clinical Center required the construction of a new facility. Redstone Architects, Inc. was commissioned to program and design a new facility that would consolidate instructional and office space from both the Clinical Center and Life Sciences buildings. The design of this new facility allows for future expansion to meet the ever-growing needs of the college. The new 60,000 square foot Radiology Facility includes a new interactive computer/video lecture hall with 105 seats equipped with power and data terminals. In addition, the facility houses an atrium break-out area, library, computer labs, expanded record area, storage areas, staff offices, conference rooms and a lounge. State-of-the-art technology was incoporated into the design of this facility thereby allowing the MSU Radiology Department to operate through the use of electronic networking remotely "tele-radiology" to enhance instructional and research programs through wider access to case materials, research and development opportunities.
