Project Size: 6,988 | In an effort to enhance the learning experience and reinforce the importance of group interaction within the unique curriculum of Human Medicine, Michigan State University sought to consolidate the medical student learning activities into a new space in the lower level of the Radiology Building. Redstone Architects, Inc. was commissioned to define the components, functions and activities which would accomplish this goal. The Student Learning Center serves as the hub for student life and learning during the first two years of medical school. The Center's design is focused on community with a student lounge, communications center and quiet study space. The geographic consolidation of the various learning components throughout this building succeeded in optimizing efficiency and opening space for other college needs. The new Student Learning Center of the College of Human Medicine was dedicated in September 2000. (2000) | |
