Project Size: 27,500 SF | Redstone Architects, Inc. combined aesthetics with efficiency when designing this award-winning police facility in West Bloomfield's civic center. The two-level, 27,500 square foot complex is friendly and open, featuring large skylights over the front and rear lobbies. The main level includes administration, investigations, communications, record-day room, computer room, prisoner holding cells with connecting sally port, interrogation rooms, witness interview rooms, maintenance garage, training rooms and cafeteria. The facility's lower level houses the exercise room, locker rooms, evidence storage, shooting range, and armory. The department recently returned to Redstone to provide design services for an addition to the building. The addition included a new detective bureau, an evidence processing laboratory and storage space, and expanded personnel locker facilities. This project was presented the 1990 Architectural Award for outstanding design of a new building by the Greater West Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce. (1990 & 2004) |
